Iron Man, Thor, Batman, Flash… Do the heroes we know from the Marvel and DC cinematic universes have anything interesting to offer us? Of course they do; after all, there’s a reason American blockbusters are so popular. But do the worlds in which these characters operate have anything in common with the reality we live in? That’s a completely different question…

Animal Farm, directed by Gabriel Gietzky, examines the character of the contemporary world. How is it possible that we have all come to believe so deeply in its black-and-white, one-dimensional nature? Why is it so easy for us to divide into good and bad, distant and close? What do we lose when we stop seeing the nuances of situations and experiences, especially in relation to another person?*

*If you didn’t understand this question literally, this performance is for you. If you did – it’s even more for you.
