Peer Gynt

“Peer Gynt” is a dramatic poem about a man who spends his entire life running away from reality, his own identity, responsibility, and the truth about himself, only to ultimately confront the question of the meaning of life and identity. Searching for his place in the world. The titular hero spends his whole life fleeing from the truth, living in unreal fantasies and falling into ever greater trouble, from which only love can save him.

Throughout the play, Peer Gynt struggles with his own desires, ambitions, and tendencies to escape from reality. Peer Gynt is a character full of contradictions – he is both a hero and an anti-hero who fights against his own weaknesses and flaws.

Based on the play by Henrik Ibsen.
Premiere: November 21, 2025, as part of the event “80 Years of the Pinokio Theatre in Łódź: Jubilee Celebrations.”
The production is nominated for the 2025 Plastry Kultury (Culture Patches) award in the “Theatre” category.
