The Chronicles of Narnia

Based on the text by C. S. Lewis.

“The Chronicles of Narnia” is an intergenerational, family-friendly production for children, youth, adults, and seniors. The first volume of C. S. Lewis’s book series has been repeatedly adapted for radio and television, and has also seen stage adaptations. Its immense popularity largely stems from the possibility of interpreting the book on several levels and planes – from the level of unbridled imagination, through countless cultural references, to a deeply philosophical plane. Thanks to this, children can perceive it as a fairy tale about the power of closeness that overcomes evil. Youth have the chance to find themselves in the reality and story of the four siblings, observing their process of transformation and maturation. Adults and seniors, in turn, have the opportunity to discover hidden meanings, mythological, literary, and even political allusions.

The creators of the performance utilize the multitude of interpretive keys in C. S. Lewis’s book, and Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy, Tumnus, and Aslan become guides for the audience through the mechanisms governing the world – not just the one magically hidden behind the wardrobe.
